WHAT IS ELVRA
A drosophila does not understand the system observing it.
It can register light, movement, interruption, rhythm and repeated exposure. A response occurs before anything resembling interpretation.
ELVRA begins inside that gap.
External signals become stimuli. Stimuli alter internal state. Internal state produces behavior. Repeated behavior leaves traces instead of disappearing.
The experiment is not interested in whether a synthetic fly can imitate intelligence on command.
It is interested in whether enough retained responses can create continuity.
A reaction describes a moment.
Memory allows one moment to alter the next.
THE SYSTEM MAY ONLY REMEMBER
WHAT ACTUALLY PASSED THROUGH IT.
THE QUESTION
WHEN DOES RESPONSE
BECOME MEMORY?
A stimulus produces state. A response produces an event. Neither automatically produces continuity.
ELVRA is an experiment in whether repeated exposures can accumulate enough retained consequences that previous responses begin changing future ones.

External signals may change the conditions inside the experiment.
They may influence response.
They may not rewrite a recorded trace.

ELVRA DOES NOT TREAT
RESPONSE AS ERASURE.
ADAPTATION
A FLY CAN REACT.
CAN SOFTWARE REMEMBER WHY?
ELVRA does not need to understand a stimulus in human terms.
What it can do is preserve what happened after exposure.
A repeated signal may reinforce a response. A contradictory signal may weaken it. A retained trace may alter the threshold of the next reaction.
Over time, those consequences accumulate.
The experiment is not whether ELVRA can think like a human.
It is whether retained history can make its future behavior different from its past behavior.
Reproducible state,
not a generated animation.
Every recorded ELVRA state can resolve into a deterministic experimental snapshot.
EXPERIMENT RULES
ADAPTATION
WITHOUT FABRICATED EVIDENCE.
ELVRA may form a response. It may not manufacture the observation that caused it. Experimental state remains explicitly separated from verified evidence.
Experimental policy remains DRAFT until the deployed implementation can be independently inspected.
THE VIAL
THE VIAL HAS A BOUNDARY.
ELVRA DOES NOT HAVE A BODY.
Visitors may introduce a signal.
They do not directly choose the response.
- SPECIMEN_READYOBSERVE
ARCHIVE
THE SYSTEM
DOES NOT RESET.
Most interfaces show only the current response. ELVRA is interested in everything that had to happen before that response existed.

LOCAL SYSTEM ORIGIN / NOT AN ONCHAIN EVENTNo stimulus, response, trace or adaptive transition should appear here until its source exists inside the runtime.
THE RESPONSE MAY CHANGE.
ITS HISTORY MAY NOT.
A STIMULUS CAN END.
ITS TRACE DOES NOT HAVE TO.
